The 13 Houses Jubilee Project

A Special Initiative for the Church’s Jubilee 2025

The 13 Houses Jubilee Project is a Famvin Homeless Alliance special initiative aligned with the Church’s Jubilee Year 2025 under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

Pope Francis has chosen the 13 Houses in Syria as one of his “concrete gestures of charity” for the Jubilee Year.

He will support the Vincentian Family efforts to give hope back to thirteen families in Syria, highlighting a forgotten crisis which continues to affect so many families.

Theme

“Pilgrims of Hope, Journeying Together to End Homelessness”.

Together, as Pilgrims of Hope, we can make a significant difference in changing the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness worldwide.

Goal

To raise awareness and invite the Vincentian Family worldwide and the wider Church to take an active part in the fight against homelessness.

Reach

To reach at least 13 new countries in which the Vincentian Family works and serves, symbolizing the hope of ending homelessness, one family at a time.

With your help, we can raise over $500,000 to help homeless people around the world

To reach the 170 countries in which the Vincentian Family is present, the FHA is launching a fundraising campaign that will run from September 2024 to March 2025. All donations received will go directly to the projects. A foundation has agreed to match every donation up to $250,000. With your help, we can raise more than $500,000 and take a big step forward in the journey towards ending homelessness.

Our Story and Milestones

The "13 Houses" Campaign

Since 2018, when we gathered at the Rome Conference to reflect on the needs of people experiencing street homelessness and witnessed the birth of the “13 Houses” Campaign, we have made significant steps together and expanded our horizons.

For the past six years approximately 25 branches of the Vincentian Family have joined the “13 Houses” Campaign and have contributed to 110 projects in 70 countries, meeting the needs of over 10,000 individuals.

The "Sheltering" Sculpture

At the World Day of the Poor 2022, we had the joy to witness the blessing of the Sheltering statue by Pope Francis, who encouraged us to journey with our homeless brothers and sisters.

The statue will be installed permanently near the St. John Lateran Basilica as a constant reminder of the plight of people experiencing homelessness.
